Pegasus

Pegasus is currently on view at The Kennard Park Sculpture Trail, in Newton Ma. set in a beautiful fern glade, along with five other of my sculptures, and 14 other participating artists. The form and surface is the result of welding 4" x 4" stainless steel plates together, with the majority of the seems fully welded. There is no internal frame, and yet the structure is extremely strong. The surface is a sanded, bright swirl finish which will remain bright if placed out doors for years to come.

The form is vaguely horse like, and reminds me of the form language of chess pieces. The detail shots show a mild steel base plate, which is optional, to provide for placement on soft ground.
